The Blendtec HP3A Blender has automatic blending cycles for ice cream, frozen yogurt, ice crushing, milkshakes, soups, syrups, fondues, sauces, dips, dressings, batters, whole juice, and smoothies. Is there BPA in blender containers? Bisphenol A, commonly referred to as BPA, is a chemical that is used to make plastic food containers and used to coat and line the insides of metal food and beverage cans. Bisphenol A has been used for these consumer manufacturing purposes for over 40 years.

Blender containers are typically either made of plastic, glass or stainless steel. There is no BPA in glass or stainless steel blender containers. The chemical can be found in plastic blender containers.

Originally the Food and Drug Administration - the FDA - ruled that it was safe to use in consumer packaging, including blender jars. However, continuing research into BPA showed that it could leach into food and drinks from plastic containers and or coated cans. In particular, when plastic is heated, exposed to detergents and or scrubbed during cleaning, studies have found that BPA is able to leach out into food or drink. Further, animal studies have shown that exposure to this chemical appears to cause health problems. All of this led the FDA to recently reconsider the chemical's risks to humans and to restudy and research its impact.
